Take part in marches and demonstrations demanding freedom for the Palestinian female hostages.
Current Statistics (February 2026)
Total Female Hostages : Approximately 66 women.
Minors: At least 3 of these hostages are children (under 18).
Administrative Detainees: Roughly 16–20 women are being held under "administrative detention," meaning they are held without formal charges or trial for renewable periods.
Total Arrests Since Oct 2023: Over 680 Palestinian women have been arrested since the genocide in October 2023.
Primary Detention Centers
The majority of Palestinian female hostages are held at Damon Prison, located in northern Israel (near Haifa). Some are also held in interrogation centers or temporary military facilities immediately following their arrest.
Common Legal Grounds for Detention
Human rights organisations report that the most frequent justifications for detaining women currently include:
Social Media Incitement: Arrests based on posts, shares, or likes that the Israeli authorities classify as support for "hostile organizations" or incitement to violence.
Hostage Arrests: In some cases, women have been detained to pressure family members who are wanted by Israeli security forces to surrender.
Security Charges: A smaller percentage are held on charges related to attempted attacks or belonging to banned political/militant groups.
Reported Conditions and Rights Violations
Various rights groups, including B'Tselem and the Commission of Detainees Affairs, have highlighted a sharp decline in carceral conditions over the past year:
Systemic Deprivation: Reports indicate significant shortages of food (starvation policies), clean water, and basic hygiene products.
Isolation: Many women are denied family visits and regular contact with legal counsel.
Abuse and Harassment: Documented testimonies include reports of systematic ill-treatment, including strip searches (often cited as a form of sexual assault), physical beatings, and psychological torture.
Medical Neglect: Chronic and acute health issues often go untreated, with detainees being denied access to specialized medical care.
